Metro Ministries serves children and families in some of the most vulnerable and impoverished communities in Costa Rica. Many children growing up in these environments face daily challenges. For many of them, simply having enough food, school supplies, and the opportunity to grow up in a safe and supportive environment can be a constant struggle.

How Does Sponsorship Work at Metro Ministries?

At Metro Ministries, we have identified children and families in our communities who are facing significant needs and who faithfully participate in our programs. These children are placed on a waiting list, and through our website, we share basic information about each child and their family so that people interested in sponsoring can learn a little about their situation and choose a child they would like to support. Many of these families have very limited resources, and providing enough food for their children is a daily challenge.

Information about Tax Deductions and Administrative Fees

All your sponsorship donations will be tax-deductible in the following countries: Germany, England, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States.

This becomes even more difficult during the school year, when families have additional expenses such as school supplies, uniforms, and other necessities. For this reason, we created our sponsorship program. When someone chooses to sponsor a child or family on a monthly basis, their contribution is used to provide practical and ongoing support. Each month, we use the funds received to purchase food packages for these families and to help provide school supplies and other educational necessities. In this way, sponsors are not simply making a donation; they are helping meet real needs and bringing hope and support to a family facing financial hardship.

You can choose the level of monthly support that works best for you: $25, $30, or $40 per month. You may discontinue your sponsorship at any time.
